I’d include “I’ll be sharing a video with my friends, but I know you also want to hear my daughter’s first tuba recital, so I’ll turn up the volume really high.”
Too narrow a cliff’s ledge to walk. Dredging up memories and feelings about school classrooms can too easily dredge up memories of final exams and late assignments. Not restful!
I’ve never paid the slightest attention to the demands of the sour misfits who hate morning people, and now, apparently, happy people. They are, as the saying goes, all bark and no bite.
I think it’s more accurate that everyone strikes a balance “between safe and measuring up to some shifting, wobbly, judgemental standard of ‘looking cool’”.
I fully appreciate the sentiment, but I recall TV news being an overview at noon, a half-hour at supper, and an hour before bed (just for restful sleeps). If you were listening to the radio, a headline overview every hour. Still pretty wide open and pleasant compared to today’s 24 hour “news”.
