Older than I'd like to be, but forever young when it comes to comics and comic strips.
Technically, Tracy’s been onstage several days this week— just not, as yet, investigating a crime.
Mysta looks like a prime contestant in her ‘Mars Maid’ getup.
And is that some sort of lab coat he’s wearing, or just an ordinary jacket inaccurately colored white? Maybe we’ll find out Sunday….
Walter is the name of the Derby Dugan cartoonist, not this guy, whoever he turns out to be.
Looks to me like there’s a typo in panel 1— shouldn’t it be a “Derby Dugan” daily, instead of “Derby Dugan Daily”?
‘George Herriman has become “Carlson” in today’s strip’ —Wonder if that might be a reference to the obscure comics artist George L. Carlson, who has been compared to Herriman?
Maybe the Mad Colorizer is now also the resident censor, protecting us readers from shameful Tom & Jerry-ish violence.
As I recall, Bob owned a talking dog with an uppercrust accent, and Jerry had a housekeeper who was an old witch. Funnier stuff than most of their movies….
What if it’s Mustache Guy who ends up pestering Mysta, and Vera intervenes in gentlemanly fashion, thus improving her opinion of him? (Just spitballing while we continue to wait for a clear direction to emerge here….)
Check panel 1 of the 5/25 strip, which shows the just-arrived Abner handing Rikki her hat. Knowing his theatrical bent, I figured he brought it along so they could both be properly costumed for the hit. (He did forget her cape, though.)
