Get it, Bea!! They shoot them off for a week before and sometime all the way through the night and into the morning. The cats and I have not slept well at night since June 27th. I’m with Bea on this one!!
Merc did it worse when he was young, but he would still smurgle (suckling and making biscuits) even at the age of 16. My new girl, Portia, does it as well but only on my shoulders (those needle-claws really sting on your shoulder bone).
Though my words are certainly too plebeian for HER elevated mind and taste, I genuflect, bow my whiskerless head, and let utterances of unending gratitude and undying fealty to HER magnificence spill forth. With downturned eyes, wet with adoration, I contemplate the immense joy the gift of her ninth year will bring—I weep in happiness and wonder. All Hail SHE!
