    My favorite spam email was the one that said they’ve been monitoring my web browsing and watching me through the camera and if I don’t send them xxx worth of bitcoin they’ll release the porn sites and the photos of me watching the sites. I laughed so hard I almost sprained my big toe.

    It also fills a need. A four-year-old needs to know that they’ve got a mommy and / or a daddy that will save them and protect them from anything in the not-yet-understood and scary world. For a way-too-large percentage of people. there is a need to believe in a big invisible all-powerful sky daddy who will take care of them especially in regard to scary unknowns like death. One day, if we and our world are around that long, humankind will attain the emotional maturity so as not to need such dogma.
