    Dilbert should look at the Internet Archive (archive.org) and search for COBOL.I had a lot of fun last month searching through their back issues of BYTE magazine.

    You are so right. The 60’s let us try all sorts of things in various languages, on various hardware platforms.

    FORTRAN ( no lower case in those days) was my first language, but assembly language was a lot more fun. I never coded in COBOL, but I worked on a COBOL compiler (CDC 3600).

    I remember CP/M fondly. Until recently I had a Compaq lunchbox sitting in my garage.

    In the good real old days I worked on the CDC 3600 COBOL compiler. The compiler took several boxes of punch cards. Nobody considered the millenium problem in the early 60’s.

    Sad, but true; even sadder
