   With sunny-side eggs chopped into it grits are good, cooked using tomatoes and chicken broth as the liquid and adding garlic salt and sharp cheddar really spikes up the grit joy :) Using milk or cream makes grits gourmet!

   I had a very elegant flame point some 20 years ago who elected to throw a fit in my kitchen during Christmas party food prep. I thought he wanted some of the shrimp so I rinsed one in cold water while he howled around my ankles, chopped it into bits and delivered it to him. I went back to tending my pot of turnip greens with fat country ribs in them, hoping his appetite was sated. NO. More yowling so I pulled a cooked leaf of turnip from the pot, blew to cool it and held it up for sniffing, saying “you really will not want this-” I got half of “this” out and he snatched the green from my fingers and proceeded to prove his credentials as a Southern Cat <3

   We has an Ef3 tornado here Tuesday. Horrible weather, but at least the cats weren’t agitating to get out! Husband says we’ll have lows in the 20s Friday.

   I am so sorry, BillsDottir! The world lost a good CatDaddy when your daddy crossed the rainbow bridge. My pop was also a CatMan (as he’d say) and he crossed about this time of hear 20 years back and I still miss him. He used to decide whether a fellow was decent or not by whether he likes cats or not. And if Daddy’s cats liked the person? Well, our doors were always open for them <3
