Tired of Mark Zuckerberg and his right wing agenda?
There is an alternative social media platform — MeWe (Me and we = us) —that is very similar to Facebook, but does not carry ads (unless users sign up for them and specify what ads you are interested in) and does not allow any data mining, data sharing, tracking or privacy intrusions. It allows use of bold and italic in posts. It has been around since 2012 but I just learned about it recently and have been trying it out for a while. There are currently two million users, which is small compared to Facebook’s claim of half a billion.
Little by little, a few at a time, I am inviting Facebook friends to join. While MeWe may be much smaller than Facebook, I am hoping that if enough of my Facebook friends migrate to MeWe we can have a safer environment in which to express opinions.
To sign up: https://mewe.com
Then invite all your friends to join. Unlikely to make a huge dent in Facebook’s numbers, but if you just get your own social circle to join the alternative, it may not change the world, but it might just change your own social media experience.
The Pilgrims and Puritans did not come to America in search of religious freedom, they came because they disagreed with the established religious authority and wanted THEIR brand of religion to be the dominant one that would not allow religious freedom or tolerance for any other.
Rich white New York Republican billionaire with a troubled past regarding blacks and women?
Where on goddess’ green earth does Bloomberg see a constituency in the Democratic Party?
Vote for the “safe” candidate?
Tell me again how we got Bush and Trump.
Vote your conscience for a strong, viable candidate who can sell a message?
It is how Democrats got FDR or Obama and how Republicans got Reagan.
Apparently too many been tuning into fake news on their local Fox stations.
Agreed. Just cut out the blood-sucking, dollar-sucking corporate middlemen. As is demonstrated everywhere else in the civilized world, the result is better health care for half the cost.
They all know.
But the special interests are pulling out all the stops to make sure their precious gravy train doesn’t get derailed.
Some form of universal public health care works in every other modern industrial nation, but somehow the conservatives think that, in the U.S., it would be fairy dust.
Why do conservatives think that systems that work better and cost less everywhere else can’t work here?
Do conservatives think Americans are stupider or less deserving than those in other countries?
Silly me, I thought when conservatives were referring to “American exceptionalism,” they meant the U.S. is better than other places.
Who knew it really meant they think we are less capable or less worthy than others. Projecting their own feelings of inadequacy?
Do you watch any news? Did you at least read the comment you are responding to?
You are DEMANDING that the rules “allow the President’s counsel to be present and question witnesses and the minority to call any witness it wishes.”
THE RULES THAT WERE JUST PASSED DO EXACTLY THAT.
Just like the original comment noted, the Trumpers demand something, Democrats give it to them, and then they whine about it. Sheesh.
How long before Republicans regret the day they demanded public hearings? Soon they will be complaining that the Democrats are just trying to publicly embarrass them.
A pile of dead, brainless skulls?
Trump definitely at the top of that pile.
And definitely lonely.
