Instead of Kool Aid, they serve bread and wine. Or often grape juice. Maybe grape-flavored Kool Aid.
In any case, it is the same concept.
I do agree that Cuomo is mostly doing a good job. But don’t overlook the fact that NYC Mayor Bill deBlasio was begging for statewide aid and action for days before Cuomo agreed.
And Cuomo already had the model of Newsom’s successful model in California, but it took him several days after Newsom to do the same in New York, even though it was clear by that time that the greater population density and reliance on public transit and large events made New York more susceptible.
Newsom in your state of California acted quickly, boldly and decisively, if not always in front of the cameras.
Cuomo is doing a good job, especially compared to Republican governors (what kind of comparison is that?), but was too cautious for too long and needs to get out from behind the cameras and do his job.
Ben Carson? The brain surgeon is brain dead.
$15 an hour is not nearly enough. Especially for “essential” cogs in the economic wheel. The fact that we have to beg for even that paltry amount shows how far out of whack things are.
If billionaires don’t go to work, nobody notices. If the trash collectors don’t go to work, we quickly appreciate how critically important they are.
We kept ignoring the warnings from Mother Nature and now she’s going to send us all to our lonely little corners to sit by ourselves. Or there could be a spankin’ involved.
Just on a lark, I went through and counted the number of spam posts from Whine-O, whining rather than posting something relevant. As of 9:20 pm Central time, Whine-O has posted about ten times, and not one of them has a single “like.”
On the contrary, every post by DDWiz has multiple “likes” and the one leading off the conversation has well over a hundred. If Whine-O thinks he is making a point, he’s been sampling too much product.
You would think someone would take a hint at how completely people here don’t like that kind of nasty trolling. But some people never get it.
Whatever you call it, the White House is definitely infected.
Mike Pence gonna handle the COVFEFEVIRUS?
Maybe it’s just the old lady in me, but I simply cannot understand how someone can volunteer for a candidate, attend their rallies and then just not show up to vote on election day.
Or before election day, as so many states now allow early and mail-in voting.
Whatever it is, it does take the wind out the sails of the Bernie promise to turn out the young voters or those who usually sit out on election day.
Yes, in response to Ebola, Obama created the pandemic response unit that Trump promptly shut down. Ebola killed over 90% of those infected and more contagious than coronavirus, but was promptly and successfully contained, controlled and then, with a vaccine and a cure, virtually eliminated.
