I think female sheep used as the word “ewe” is the most common word Pastis uses for his puns. Apparently it’s hard to come up with a semi-reasonable noun that sounds like “you”, but these ewes could almost be promoted to regular characters in his strip.
When PETA is trying to explain that it’s just as easy to eat products without hurting animals, “It’s just as easy to eat a veggie burger instead of beef”. Ummm, excuse me, I’ll take the beef and leave that disgusting option for you guys…
