   just for the record, St. Nicholas of Myra was a real person with a bona fide miracle under his belt, the relief of the famine in Myra, saving Romans, Christians, Jews & hittites all together. Presumably, the two tons of grain appeared in a ships hold by means similar to David Blaine. But still, he did give away all of his money & valuable pbjects after his parents were killed, run over by a drayer. Organizing the switcheroo would likely be up there on the miracle board.

   as long as this is a squirrel friendly zone, are there any folks here who feed peanuts to squirrels? If so have you observed the target squirrel not find the tossed peanut? and finally, have you ever stood by the fence or whatever and pointed to the peanut you just tossed? Have any squirrels followed your finger to their treat? In dogs, that behavior is well studied and known as triadic communication. This happened to me a few days ago when the last peanut in the bag couldn’t be found and another squirrel wanted a nut. over the next few days, some squirrels started following my finger. They already knew what someone carrying a ziplock bag meant.

   Hi Lawrence - this will be the first time replying to a comic strip post that is not just a zinger. As it happens, I am an amateur exegete specializing in Genesis w/r/t the coincidence of poetic, easy to remember and digest stories, and things that most people agree happened. I have zero invested in any type of literalness (with one exception) of anything in Genesis. I’ll just number the match-ups. 1) it’s generally accepted that the universe started at a zero point in time and composed of stuff and space. 2) We live under a firmament that separates a fluid below from the same fluid above: Both voyager missions recorded increases of 50 times the plasma density than what we experience “down” here. 3) the “lesser Light and Greater Light” - i.e. our particular solar system — show up on day 4 of creation, in other words, two thirds of the way to the age of the universe as observed. 4) This next is not verified but it makes sense, Life is likely to not be possible without nitrogen. Nitrogen is abundant now, but it took an awful long time waiting for the population III stars to blow up and provide stuff to make stars of medium mass which could fuse atoms on a hot carbon shell. So, and this still not verified but might soon be, day 2, one third of the way through, might have enough nitrogen for flora, and by day five, enough for fauna. JFTR a ton of animal has about ten times the nitrogen of plants. 5) There was likely not an “expulsion” of H. sapiens, but as revealed in the Africa Replacement Model, a small group of people in east Africa bearing the L3clade of mitochondrial DNA left to asia and then on to the rest of the world. 6) some of the H. sap wound up in or near europe and in fact did co-exist chronologically with another Hominin group, which may or may not be referred to as Nephilim. 7) unlike most flood myths, which are a dime a dozen, Genesis specifically starts its flood myth with the fountains of the deep bursting forth, as opposed to
