This is why I stopped going to meetings. They are boring, unproductive and last longer than 15 minutes. Plus, I don’t care whats going on in anyone else’s project. I have my own issues.
Now that retirement is just a short time away, I treat even the ‘Urgent’ stuff like spam. I found most of the ‘Urgent’ stuff really wasn’t, to the point the person forgot about it in under 2 hours. They only remembered it when I eventually responded. I ignore any and all complaints. The repeat requests get a response of ‘how urgent is it really’? I then give it the same treatment as everything else. Last but not least, that stack on Wilson’s desk will be there when he gets back. Nobody will really care or notice how long it took to get done.
