   When I was 13, I went on a family weekend ski trip with a friend to a cabin in the mountains. Since we would be meeting new people our age who we would most likely never see again we decided to go by different names and see if we could keep it up the entire trip. It was hard! We kept messing up and calling ourselves by our real names.

   My husband insisted I park my car in the garage. At the time, I wanted a working shop garage instead, so I built rolling stands for all my power tools which could easily be tucked around the perimeter and leave just enough space for my car. Several years and several neighborhood overnight thefts of catalytic converters, I am grateful he insisted!

   In my art classroom I teach teens clean-up procedures in great detail. I can tell who has been assigned chores at home and who has not by the level of attention each student gives to the task.
