Exhibition sports are a thing at pretty much every Olympics and for every event that catches fire and becomes a new Olympic sport, there’s several that will probably never be seen again and a few more that will recur for a few games and then vanish. Breakdancing is probably one of the later two groups.

Oh look, it’s that one guy again, back to smugly point out how HE’S the only one smart enough to see through Mallett and know what a smugly pretentious poser he is. Give it up dude. In all these years, the only thing you’ve proved is that you are a sad little person with no life.

It’s an attempt to look like Pearls Before Swine. Because Mallett and Pastis have something of a (presumably friendly) rivalry going and puns are kind of a Pastis trademark.

The only indoor exercise I’ve ever seen Frazz do is swim in a pool. Outdoor running in a Michigan winter might not be the most fun imaginable, but it probably won’t kill you, whereas swimming certainly can, so he accepts doing that indoors, rather reluctantly. The simple fact is, most folks who regularly run outdoors don’t own treadmills. There are exceptions, but I can’t really see either Frazz or Ms. Plainwell being among them.

Yeah, that works great for people that have other vehicles. I don’t, for a variety of reasons that boil down to being poor and cheap for a long time.

Actually, I doubt either of them owns a treadmill.

On the whole traffic thing, though I no longer run, I do bike a bit and one of my biggest problems is having to ride through traffic to get to any of the decent bike trails. A couple of years ago, I started getting so nervous about traffic I almost stopped riding entirely (no real idea why, no close calls or anything) fortunately that seems to be getting better, though I’m now way too out of shape to go back to riding like I did. Ah well, at least I’m enjoying the riding I CAN do again.

This was the thing so many people missed when the idea that masks were robbing people of their identity was big with the anti-mask crowd. It’s just another chance to express your personal style. In the past year, I’ve seen some pretty cool masks, and some nice “pretty” masks that I wouldn’t say were “cool” but definitely had their own style. And sure, a lot of bland one color masks, but for some people, that’s their style (or their “style” is, how cheaply can I get a mask, cause money is super tight).

Yup, about 20 million people have no broadband access in the US. Only about 2.2 million are still subscribed to AOL, with estimates on the number still using dial up services ranging from about 10 million to barely more than AOL’s numbers. I tend to buy in to the higher numbers, there’s some pretty good support for the idea that AOL has about 1/4 to 1/3 of the total dial up market.

6 percent isn’t exactly huge. And some of that 6 percent includes people with no interest in the internet. Now admittedly, when you include people who do not have broadband but could, you get 23 percent, but it’s not clear how many of those are actually using the internet. According some sources, only 3 percent of the US population actually uses dial up, others have it significantly lower, under 1%.
