   “Poor funding”???? have you seen the per-student expenses in the cities with the worst results? And BTW, the best cohort of students, those of Asian descent, are mostly strongly religious [what you would call “fundamentalists”.]. I agree about the “education corporations”; that would be the public school systems, which are run for the benefit of the teachers’ unions.

   As for parents, let’s compare the results of home schooling to public schooling.

   It’s not that she disagrees with the sentiments: it’s that she is in shock at the insight and erudition of the kids, as opposed to the adults doing the censoring.

   there are a small proportion of Orthodox women who shave their heads. However, most cover their hair either with headcoverings or wigs. the idea that shaved-head women somehow symbolize Jewish women in general seems to be extreme.
