Did I still correctly perceive some mockery in that genius explanation?

Possibly, but Tara is still being singled out. On some level Tara loves getting attention. Luann found a good strategy for Tara shine and explain her art without making her feel TOO singled out—-remind the class what art is, acknowledge Tara’s art in a neutral manner, yet giving Tara a lead-in to explain the mind workings behind her art and how she perceived the assignment differently. Tara is full of surprises and I think all the extra well-chosen words will help keep Tara on subject.

This is where duct tape could be put to good use to keep Calvin in bed and not be called out for child abuse. LOL!!

“Class, Art is not just copying what you see, it is also conveying what you feel. Tara, your work seems to demonstrate this beautifully. Your art piece is very different from the rest. Perhaps you ‘felt’ rather than just ‘saw’ something when replicating this still life? Would you be willing to enlighten the class your thoughts, what your intent was for people to see, and what kind of statement your work exhibits?” This can be a learning moment for the whole class, not just teaching Luann how to interact with others in a neutral manner.

    Artists notoriously flaunt the rules.

In a perfect world, the guys would give up their 50% take and give it to Tiffany. Betz would help Tiff study. But. . . . . Les could also have something up his sleeve and pay a little visit to his mother and Tiff’s dad. I would love to see the second scenario in the storyline.

I ‘rough-rake’ the leaves and run them through the shredder to mulch the garden. The rest I mow. I don’t even bother cleaning out around the shrubbery until Spring. Critters need places to hide, burrow down, or find food in the winter.

Nothing catty about Luann’s comment. Jack said “Bye Ladies” (plural). Kind of sounded like he mentally left Luann and Luann injected some humor.

My given name is Katherine, but I am nicknamed Katie. Teachers insisted in calling me Kathy. My mother had to straighten out quite a few teachers by calling me by a ‘wrong’ name.
