As someone that works in higher education and the funding of that education, it is very difficult for a low income to mid-income family to pay for their education without taking loans. At the University I work for we have a program in place for famlies at or below the poverty line we award a grnt to cover the students full tuition. Most schools need to have this type of program inplace because it ends up lower the loan debt for the most needy. I do agree college tuition cost has gotten out of hand and it needs to be brought to a level where it is reasonable and more affordable.
Back Phil, I am not sure where your information about Mormons came from. As a memeber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I can assure you that your assesment of women in the Church is not correct.
The whole city of Flint is not poor, there are affluent areas in Flint and they were receiving the same water as the rest of the city. I know this because I live in the area. Also, there were only 28 cases of elevated lead levels in children. Also, the cities of Grand Rapids and Detroit have greater levels of lead in their water and we dont see those two cities making a big deal out of it. People need to check the facts.
First off Michael Moore would like to think he is from Flint, Mi. He is actually grew up and graduated from Davison , Mi which is right next to Flint. I know this because he graduated with my brother form Davison High Shcool. Also, it is the mayor of Flint that is trying to make this a racial issue, she is upset that the city was put under State Emergency Managment when the city went bankrupt. It was the Gov. EPA advisors that did not feel it was an important enough issue to let him know about the water problem. I grew up in this area and I would never drink the water out of the Flint river not after GM dumped there waste into the river.
