    I taught Latin to seminarians. Difficult job because they didn’t know anything about English. I made up "googlio, googliare, googliavi, googliatus, -a, -um (to look up on the internet). They thought it was for real. Solvitur googliando.

    When I was in college in the 50’s, I thought nothing of driving home clear across town in an open convertible. Now I would not drive anywhere in New Orleans even with a bunch of marines surrounding me. The city is a war zone that I left permanently 20 years ago.
