Netanyahu and his govt had one job: keep Israelis safe. Israel had held 5 snap elections over 4 years with no party being able to form a majority coalition, primarily because of Netanyahu. What did Likud et al do once they had cobbled together slim majority? They focused on gutting the independent judiciary that kept ruling against them and the settler movement, leading to a year of protests against Netanyahu. Nobody was paying attention to Gaza and Hamas and that’s what lead to the intelligence failures on Oct 7. Netanyahu deserves all the blame he’s receiving.

A big problem is the media who has two talking heads for every issue making it seem like there’s a 50/50 split. I think it was John Oliver who showed how it’d look like if cable news had 98 to 2 for an interview.

Everything else about Trump & the GOP is based on junk, so a polygraph fits in with that.

If you’ve actually seen the commercial, I hope you appreciate that it is the classic pitchman Trump and not the current angry rally Trump. He’s hawking the Bible with the same delivery and energy he did with Trump Steaks, Trump Water, Trump Signature Clothing, Trump University, and so on. The insincerity of it all is chef’s kiss

IIRC, Texas is one of the red states with a low ratio of federal spending to federal taxes paid. It’s usually around 1:1 parity, plus or minus a few cents. It’s certainly the lowest in the South and no where near Kentucky & West Virginia. Kentucky gets close to $2.75 for every $1 in taxes. New Mexico is the blue state with the highest spending to taxes ratio with nearly $2.5 for every $1, but a lot of that is due to four military bases and two national laboratories being located in NM.

I’m not sure if any support pylon could withstand a straight-on direct hit from a fully loaded container ship. That’s a tremendous amount of mass and momentum to absorb. If it had been a glancing blow? Maybe survivable.

Don’t forget the possibility that they knew of the terrorists’ plans (they even had warnings from the US) but chose to do nothing because that served their purposes better.

When even Chuck Todd speaks out against something, you know you’ve screwed up hard.

Phallic implications are what drives the right. Also the name of my new band.
