Since I’m one of the 6 billion 750 million people who officially use Metric units, and not one of the 374 million people that officially still use the Imperial system, I had to stop and think about this for a minute.

Still less dangerous to swim there than to get in a car or on a bicycle. Or go near a dog. Or a pig, or a deer.

It is three-dimensional chess. Doesn’t mean it’s from Star Trek though – the Episode you’re referring to is “Court Martial”, aired February 2, 1967. Kubikschack style 3-D chess first appeared in 1851, and was developed into Raumschach, off of which Star Trek based its game, in 1907

Egypt is in Africa – not technically part of the “plains”, yes, but it often shares theological basis with nearby tribal beliefs.

Dziva is the creator Goddess, and her domains include life. The Ankh is the Egyptian symbol of life, and was closely related to many Egyptian gods.

I’d say it’s a bit of a twist on classic mythology, just like the rest of this comic, but it’s also a neat little tie-in for those who know a lot about the mythology of that area
