   More to the point, even if Bill Nye had once been a climatologist, he has a platform because he is now in the entertainment business, so at best his views would fall in the category of punditry. Pundits present as “experts”, but market incentives mean that most pundits end up tending toward either extreme views or extreme expression of their views. It simply doesn’t pay to be careful and precise.

   I agree. When I first read the strip, I was immediately confused as to why the storyline was being undercut with a symmetric optimal maze path. Or is this just meta-irony?

   I think you all may be missing the point. Many more cases in US than in Mexico, so clearly those viruses are running south across the border. We need to close the border to preserve health and safety in Mexico!

   Thanks for the pointer to the Burger King ads. Very funny. But I think the ads are actually in favor of net neutrality (i.e., against the repeal of net neutrality).

   Hard to tell if questions in comments are serious or not, but it seems like a lot of people don’t get this “MIILF” thing.

   As far as I know, MIILF started showing up in Bloom County 2015 last week. It is a thing that BB has made up. He is pretending that it is a protest group called the “Midwest Image, Intellect & Lutefisk Front”. In other words, a group dedicated to promoting the image, intellectual reputation, and lutefisk of the midwest. In short, they are mad as hell about the midwest being called flyover states, etc., and they are (supposedly) perpetrating various bits of cyber civil disobedience to get their point across. Part of the gag is that BB is claiming that his facebook page has been taken over by MIILF. Another part of the gag is that if you google MIILF you will almost certainly be bombarded with porn sites related to MILF — for there is no such thing as MIILF for google to give you information about.
