State Question 805 in OK proposes adding a new clause to the state constitution that bars taking previous non-violent felony convictions into consideration during sentencing for a non-violent felony. I debated about this – domestic violence prevention groups are against it – but eventually voted for.
I like most stuff you can put on ice cream, but my favorites for vanilla ice cream are nuts (most any kind, though I prefer walnuts or cashews) and maple syrup. So simple, so yummy, so bad for me….
Though I’m late to the comment section here, I have to interject this here…
If you like to listen to audiobooks but a) you don’t care for ‘modern’ books and b) you’d rather not pay for audiobooks, there is a site for you!
If you go to librivox.org, they have FREE audiobooks (read and assembled by volunteers) of many, many of the public-domain books mentioned in posts above.
The quaity varies, of course, because all readers are volunteers with different levels of skills and talents. Often, books are recorded as group projects so that you’ll encounter several different voices handling chapters.
I will admit to reading a few chapters of a couple of “boys’ adventure” books for librivox.org. I am definitely one of the lesser talents, but they’re wonderful folks to work with.
