    I swear, sometimes I read your strip, and it’s like you have a magic mirror looking back on my childhood. This was actually the subject of a parent/teacher conference in Middle School. “Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs, your daughter is very smart and a wonderful writer, but could you help us encourage her to write about something other than unicorns with her next writing assignment?”

    I loved dodgeball, but I was only good at the dodging part. I couldn’t throw to save my life, so the end of the game was always me being the last survivor from my team while a horde of enemies across the line tried to take me down.

    I had a couple of my chickens give me a fright yesterday when they came flying straight at me. I thought I was under attack by strange wild birds before I realized it was just my own poultry. While some of my chickens are completely earthbound, others have no difficulty flying up into our trees to roost at night or clearing great distances on the wing when they want to get someplace in a hurry.
