I love the zoom-in on Nancy’s game face.
This takes on awesome new shades as I now see her as Sluggo in drag.
I’ve not been inspired to comment here much in the last few weeks, and I’ve been finding interesting how much the comment activity here tracks with my own enthusiasm about any given strip. Look back at the delightful strip on April 1st, and see that there are 97 comments. Wisdom of the crowd?
Maybe Sluggo is actually an imaginary friend.
This also reminds me of the old joke about the teacher asking the student if he’s ignorant or just apathetic, and receiving the response: “I don’t know and I don’t care!”
Fritzi’s job is adulting. She’s always at work.
Coincidentally, yesterday I was listening (and talking about) Ravel’s Boléro with a friend. Just now on Wikipedia I found this:
According to a possibly apocryphal story from the premiere performance, a woman was heard shouting that Ravel was mad. When told about this, Ravel is said to have remarked that she had understood the piece.
True genius perceives scorn as faint praise.
