Oh my goodness, now there’s an ’80’s reference.

    Ugh, not Marx again. :(

A wake-up call in this context means an important event or piece of news that can rise a person from an apathetic state, in this case Trimble’s. So no, I don’t mean either of the two things you’ve mentioned.

@Jenner. Tsk, tsk, tsk. You should read more Doc Rat. Oh wait… ;)

This has been more than just a wake, it was Trimble’s wake-up cell.

I hope the Topsiders aren’t able to detect that jackhammer through seismography. That would go for any kind of industrial plants in Endtown too.

    Terrible thing survior guilt.

Yes that’s most worrying. Based on his conversation (http://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2013/04/05) he does not want their execution, but the council’s intentions are less clear. I can only wonder what they (and Aaron) have up their sleeves.

I said that. Read my sentence after the one you’ve quoted. “Jack is right because it’s impossible to determine means, motive and opportunity for a non-existent rule.”

I’ve been waiting for the word “objection.”. Neither of these two appear to have adequate barrister skills. They’ve both been making witness-leading statements that either could have objected to, and delivering monologues that belong in opening & closing arguments. Then again since the whole point of a trial is to determine the extent to which a law has been broken, Jack is right because it’s impossible to determine means, motive and opportunity for a non-existent rule.
