    Big, heartening point out of this whole small portrayal seems to be – at last – seeing the small family assembled on a relaxing seaside vacation. And Dad’s reaction when he sees the shadow’s source ! Priceless .

    No. Some angels are seen /felt as angels.I can live with doubt re the imaginary ones, maybe prefer to have to deal with that, too. B.t.w., we might just have seen the same kind of doubt / " pretty sureness" in neverenoughgold’s post..

    Don’t react with sarcasm, Hobbes, since Calvin has referred to nothing but imaginary angels, exactly as young kids picture them, wings and harps included.(When still young a friend noticed and kept staring at a calendar that promoted this brand of tires, highlighted by a pic of a next-to-nude in my lodging. The moment I had closed my door behind us, he could not tell me what product was in question).
