   Um…can you really say you’re friends with a person if you’re thrilled to be away from her? IDK if Evans was going for “No [currently obsessed] Luann [gushing all the time]! [She sure was fun before she started acting like that.]” but it came out more like, “Ugh, Luann sucks and we only put up with her because our creator forces us to.” That’s pretty messed up.

   Okay, I really, REALLY hope Luann’s world is not like our own and there’s no chance of backslide now that he’s presumably worked out all his anger issues, because being possessive, emotionally abusive and prone to violence are NOT good qualities when dealing with an infant. O_O

   I can’t go spending my time going through the archives of a comic, but I do know it was the arc where Toni had no idea what to get Brad as a present and the end result was her coming to him with a big present bow on her head and them sharing a passionate embrace. Comic cuts away, sex likely ensues. But for real, dude, WHY would it be a bad thing for them not to be having sex? Why is this even a thing to talk about? And I didn’t say the people saying Toni’s “keeping Brad a virgin” (what BS, like relationships are about power imbalance or something) were evil. I’d sooner say such people have serious issues with sex and women.

   Ugh, “milk her,” that is just so much more vulgar than the f-word would be. What is with the obsession with whether Brad and Toni have sex in any given storyline? And the ones who keep talking like Toni’s evilly keeping Brad a virgin…really? For one, they’ve already been HEAVILY implied to have sex – helloooo, people, remember when Toni came to him with that bow on her head! But more importantly, it’s not some evil, heartless thing to not want sex yet. The fact that Toni and Brad have been having sex for quite some time doesn’t factor into the equation of how messed up THOSE comments are.

    I really dislike this cliched crap about ambition in women being antithetical to romantic relationships. It’s tired and nonsensical and it gets even worse when you have your main character playing the sane one for the moment and acting like the “right” choice is to choose relationships…over a career. How ridiculous to act like that’s a choice a person has to make! Having a boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife doesn’t prevent you from holding office, going to law school, etc. This conversation would make sense in my mom’s day, but not mine.
