Atheism is a religion like not collecting stamps is a hobby. Atheists don’t need to prove there is no God. Theists are the ones making the extraordinary claims that God exists, and they are the ones required to come up with extraordinary evidence.’Actually, Stalin got along quite well with the Orthodox Church. He just didn’t want to share any power with them. The Gulag was a prison camp system, and was primarily occupied by political prisoners who weren’t important enough to execute. Atheism had nothing to do with it. Stalin was all about power, and he considered the church as a potential enemy.

Theopolis- where do you keep your gun when you are at home? Locked up in a safe so your kid can’t get at it? Good luck getting to it if someone knocks down your door. Or maybe you wear it 24/7, even to bed, just in case. Suggestion: get a holster, strap it to the inside of your upper thigh so it can be nice and close to another useless part of your anatomy.

Sorry, Poppy. In 67 years I’ve never had the bad guys come through my door, and you probably haven’t either. I would also imagine that should that happen, I’d just let them have whatever they wanted, rather than try to pull a gun (which I probably wouldn’t have on my person, being at home, y’’know) and get shot for the effort.

Well, if you’re over 65 you need at least 1200mgs of Calcium daily and 600mgs of Vitamin D. Fortunately, you can get most of your Vitamin D by exposing yourself to sunlight for about 15 minutes. You get calcium in milk, eggs, cheese, etc. Doctors and scientists have found no difference in quality or efficacy between vitamins derived from foods or from supplements.

What is a “reasonably reliable publication” when it comes to a description of Jesus? There is no record of any description of Jesus, either in the Bible or by any historian of the period. Besides, if God was Jesus father, Jesus couldn’t have had blue eyes, as blue eyes require two parents with the recessive gene for blue eyes, and God probably doesn’t count.

Who’s religion has a place in government? What if it’s not your religion? What if the powers that be decided that we would be an official Catholic country? Or perhaps obey Shari’a law? Would you accept that? Or would you insist that only Christianity could be considered, to the detriment of the Jews, Mormons, Hindus, Buddhists, Taoist, etc? And if it were to be Christianity, which sect would we all have to follow? Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Snake handlers? Do you see the problem with mixing Church and State?

Did you consider that Obama was born in 1961, therefore would not have been eligible for the draft before the Vietnam War ended? He would have only been 14 years old. Since then we have had an all volunteer armed forces, so their hasn’t been a draft.

ware, aren’t you, that Nancy Pelosi was third in line for the Presidency, and that federal laws assign a plane to her whether she wants it or not. Boehner has that plane right now. It is a longer range jet, maintained by the government, and it has to be capable of flying across the country without refueling. Both Pelosi and Boehner get the plane because of their position in the government hierarchy. George Bush took over 900 days vacation during his eight years, more than any President in history. Compare that to Obama, who has taken less vacation time than any President in modern history.

I am praying for our country. I’m praying that the Reptilians finally come to their senses, that they put the good of their country first, not last (if they consider it at all). I’m praying that they stop the financial hostage taking, that they learn math (like how the majority of American voters voted Obama back in with a landslide in the electoral college and 4 million + votes).

But I’m not holding my breath.

Like all those “decent citizens” who wear Glock’s on the hips when they go to Wal-Mart or Taco Bell, or carry assault weapons to political rallies and town halls. There are a lot of responsible gun owners who like to hunt, who know how to shoot, and follow the rules. There are also a lot of gun owners who worship the weapon. When they carry that gun into a store, restaurant, church or school, they do not make me feel any safer. I don’t know that they know the rules, or how to shoot, or when. I see people with issues, and personally, I consider anyone who feels the need to carry a gun openly into any of these places to already be borderline personality disorder, and only a slight step away from the person who shot 26 people in Connecticut.
