I can remember back in the 80’s when the now ex had cats…I don’t remember ever being bitten by either cat but I was scratched a few times and wound up in abdominal surgery for a lump supposedly caused by “cat scratch fever”. It wasn’t fatal at the time and I turned 80 last month…
When local Dungeness crab is in season, I only buy it on Wednesday for an evening dinner. Garbage pickup for compostables is before 8 AM Thursday morning. The remains of a cracked crab are an abominable stench.
Before every mailperson had a truck they had those ubiquitous blue locked boxes scattered along a route with no letter drop where they kept the undelivered mail for the part not in the mailpesons leather pouch. The boxes were filled up from a daily truck from the local Post Office. They were presorted at the post office.
I remember working on massive IBM B2B projects in the 90’s over private networks. Totally crushed by better pc/macs o/s improvements, browsers and the internet.
I saw the movie in 1968 in a theater in Frankfurt Germany (I was in US Army stationed near Frankfurt). No subtitles were needed…or could even be translated into Hochdeutsch…The film is still vivid in my mind.
See the Burt Reynolds-Dolly Parton movie “Best Little Whxxxhouse in Texas” where they turn Aggie “boys” into Aggie “men”…
