I worked at a movie theater in the early 80’s. $4 general admission ($2 for seniors, children, and the matinee). We had the same policy for popcorn (and soda), but it had to be in a different container—since it was the cups and popcorn tubs that we “sold”, not the actual product.
I think Dana has issues with authority- as in other people having authority over her. Wasn’t she estranged from her mother because she didn’t like being told what to do? (Or am I confusing her backstory with another character?)
Two sources I have come across in the last few years:
1440 Daily Digest— just news, no opinion, and considerably unbiased.
Ground News: Not so much a “fact checker”, but more of a bias checker. They report on how different outlets spin the facts, as well as how some outlets on the right and left will completely ignore or cover certain stories.
Both are worth the time. I also recommend Dispatch Media for conservatives sick of Trump.
Smart providers (doctors, dentists, etc.) ask your preferred method to be reminded, and honor your preferences. Some will even put it on your calendar application using your email address.
Protestant churches do this as well. Many pastors will not perform the ceremony otherwise. Although I agree with you in theory that it should be mandatory for all unions (civil or religious), it would be a hard sell for many political and legal reasons (which I also agree with).
“Pics, or it didn’t happen”…mentality. It seems to be turned inward in Bet’s mind. Bet’s needs to learn to just have fun for fun’s sake.
