Why am I commenting? Everyone else already made my pertinent points for me. :/ :P
@Tony Rubino: I had Emu for Thanksgiving ’07 & ’08. It has a flavor very like Turkey, with with a gamey tang to it. We had ours hickory smoked and it was sensationally good. And the drumsticks are HUGE. And my mother who never gets enough wing from Turkey, vowed she actually had enough wing. TG ’09 we went back to Turkey and really regretted it. I would have it again this year, and am seriously considering it. My cousin raises them & llamas in Kansas. Hope this was helpful. :D
Well that’s 3 of us that got it right off, and 2 of us former Dramatics. It stays in your subconcious all your life.
My better half once lived in a small town in Colorado, where, no kidding, if you needed the police, you went to the town’s one donut shop. Otherwise you were Slap Outta Luck. :D
Am I the ONLY one on the planet who listened to her mother, when Mother said “You only get your money’s worth on potato chips, when there’s a two-for-the-price-of-one special.” ? Buy 2 bags and empty one into the other. Full bag! :D :P
Well Peggy-bear finally got some USE out of him! :D
I’m an Egyptology freak since 1976, and I didn’t know that one. I do however know some disturbing things about King Tut…
I must have grown up in an extremely unusual situation, because at 13, I was already lecturing other kids what they shouldn’t be doing. Lost me a lotta friends. I sat around at grown ups gatherings and they obviously didn’t realize I was listening, so I soaked it in. Didn’t make HALF the mistakes a normal teen makes. But after school was out, people came to me and asked how did I know. Little pitchers got big ears, that’s how. And my parents talked openly about all sexual matters, so I didn’t need sex ed, and therefore opted out. At 46, I don’t have as many “I wish I hadn’t….” as everyone I grew up with. Then again, I’ve never claimed to be normal. :D
That’s before my time. In the 1970’s you got dial tone then dialed your number. And calling your own number got a busy signal to others calling in. I recall getting a really sore finger from trying to be a certain number caller to a radio station, calling over and over.
Does it make my cats DUMBER or SMARTER, that both of them look at the hand and not the light?
