Are you speaking from experience? I doubt your stats. The bottom line is it just depends on what flavor kool-aid you get forced down your throat. Show me an institution that teaches free thinking. Probably not good for your child either. Free thinking like free speech is not looked upon favorably by those in power and likely to be in power. Better if they are automatons spouting the state rhetoric. Here is some reading material for you: Fahrenheit 451, 1984, Animal Farm, and for you sci-fi fans, Mission Earth series. The things in those books will never really happen, though, will they? Heck, they are happening now.

GOP, DEM, it doesn’t matter to me. I don’t care what color you are either. I live in a community where the lion share of the population is on some kind of welfare (call it what it is). It is only a helping hand if people ever intend to make a living again. Sadly, to me anyway, most of “these people” (ALL races) consider welfare their living. I’m 48. I remember a different America. You can tell me that times are better now, and maybe they are for a few people, but not the general population. I know better, I’ve watched it fall apart. Based solely on the longevity of my family, I might make another 20-30 years. If this next generation doesn’t use me for food or burn me for fuel. Or just get rid of me so that they can have the resources I’m using. Do whatever you want to your world, why should I try to stand in your way? Your all much too smart for me. I’ll pray for you, though most of you are Godless and won’t appreciate the gesture.

Everybody wants this perfect system that does not and cannot exist. A health care system that denies no one and costs no one and everybody gets the same equally excellent care. People study for years to be health care providers. I had the grades and the time. I didn’t want any part of it. I guess if people were compelled to do things based on apptitude testing at an early age, and then compelled to provide these services for the same days wage that everyone else receives…a system like that just might work.

I’ll take my chances, too. I like it in Pigeon Forge.

Darkeforce, you are not accurate. Income taxes didn’t start until 1862 (to support the war effort). So, Tim, your strips make me believe that you are from the new church of atheism. It is not enough that you don’t believe, you must convince everyone else how smart you are and that they should not believe either. Two people were just gunned down in one of our local businesses by people who believed only in themselves and their ability to survive. Nothing to fear, no God to punish. This is what I see when I think of JL’s song “Imagine”.
