Cartoonist and teaching artist. I draw the comic www.friedchickenandsushi.com
Oh, I see. That’s a long story! I lived in Osaka, Japan for two years and go back regularly to visit. All of my adventures inspire Fried Chicken and Sushi comics. You can read all the original strips and even buy book collections on my website www.friedchickenandsushi.com.
I wiped my face with the hot towel once, and it felt so good! Then, I was told it’s impolite. Now, it’s so hard not to! Especially during the hot, humid summers in Japan.
It’s considered impolite, but men do it in Japan all the time. So, it’s almost become socially acceptable. Women don’t tend to as much because they’ll wipe off their makeup.
Right?! So good.
Thanks so much, Janet!
It wouldn’t count as wiping your own face, but the towel did touch Karl’s face, so he’s out.
Never wipe your face with the hot towel offered at Japanese restaurants. Easier said than done, especially when you have a sibling.
I’m working on another comic, The Honeybuns, about a genius bunny rabbit kid and his family posting over on my Instagram- @khalidbirdsong. Check it out if you’d like to see more of my work.
How long do you think Karl kept those flowers before giving them to Mai?
Miki finally finds her joy.
