Arlo isn’t explicitly an Auburn fan, but that’s where Jimmy Johnson went to school.

But he’s not wrong. College football used to be about listening to Leonard’s Losers, playing your regular rivals, and maybe going to a bowl game if you had a good season. Nobody was focused on being at the top of the final polls when the season started.

Now it’s about the playoffs, ratings, and money money money.

There is no NCAA champion in FBS/Division I football.

This four-team playoff is run by ESPN and the Power 5 conferences, with the bowl games, not the NCAA. Cincinnati isn’t playing because it isn’t the AAC’s party.

    It’s all about making money.

When I was a child my parents got some Omaha Steaks as a Christmas gift every year (probably from a business associate of my father).

We children didn’t get to eat any of the steaks, but we did get to play with the dry ice (with my mother’s supervision). It was so much fun. I can still smell the carbon dioxide and see the opaque white bubbles.

At least you can enjoy bragging about not watching sports.

When I’m not interested in something I don’t join discussions of it, but this looks like more fun.

Trademark holders can’t control what people call them, but they can (and do) enforce trademarks in print. Xerox and Kleenex are still trademarks and still being defended.

They have to. The trademarks are valuable, and they can’t have other people labeling their products with their marks.

It’s cute how some people think it’s about pro football.

I think the “whip something up” comment touched a nerve.

It’s not as if she lived close enough to just drop in.

What’s wrong with a mother wanting to help her son by clicking on “like”?

Or maybe she loves her son and wants to help him succeed.
