Love this tune. Still play it on the piano often. Although I understand the significance of the piece in relation to the robot, don’t quite get the reference to what is happening. Particularly since the song has a mortal ending! Have to wait and see.

A Russel Crow Gladiator Kite would do damage to Charlie Brown’s kite-eating tree. The tree should be very afraid!

I figure the little old lady was another superhero that would have caught her if she couldn’t fly. I doubt that the organization would be so heartless. Well, maybe.

Yep. Short lived comic strip. And I was looking forward to the adventure.

What the prof said is that higher education is now getting rid of institutional researchers, of which, he is one. Most of those write the crap he is writing because if they don’t they get fired (not publishing), but they cost lot’s of money to keep. Therefore, if Rat will wait for a little while he will see this prof on a street corner selling pencils!

what has changed since growing up in the ’50’s is the amount of fear that has been injected by organizations with causes to garner headlines and money. With the advent of personal, pocket sized cameras it is now easier to “document” actions that can be used to fuel these fears. They have not become more prevalent, as another poster pointed out, just more reported and sensationalized. Our current society lives in fear about everything. In the ’50’s we only worried about nuclear bombs.

DEC was great until ‘86-’87. Then, sadly, it started a downturn. Until then it was the best job I ever had. I had a similar experience as K.C. Was having a conference over several nights with an engineer in Australia with TALK, when, on the third night, I realized that it was a woman I was “talking” to. It made no difference to me, just a fact to be noted. She was brilliant and helpful while solving a difficult PDP1170 design problem. I do Miss carrying a scope and “chip chasing” problems. Fun.

I’d give anything for college to only cost $16,000! That’s now one semester’s cost. (sigh!) for the good ol’ days.
