Several years ago we had a small microwave fire. No other damage. We had to get new cabinets because the new microwave made them look shabby. We had to get new tile because the new cabinets made the flooring look bad. We had to get new carpet in the rest of the house so all of the flooring would look good. Of course you have to paint before you can put down new carpet. That was the most expensive microwave I ever bought.
I worked for a major corporation and every year we had to write our goals before our yearly evaluation. All I really wanted to write was “…to work where I am until I retire”.
Many years ago, we were watching after our youngest granddaughter. She was probably 4 or 5 at the time. When we were getting her ready for bed we noticed a lot of strange bruises on her back. Circles, three pointed stars, lines and squares. We asked her about them and she told us that she had fallen out of the bed onto a pile of Legos. Ouch.
We did have a particularly bad car in the 80’s. After I figured out we had, in two years, paid more in repairs than we would have in payments, we traded.
