Time for a change... prefect at the Assassins' Guild school in Ankh-Morpork...
Ever seen Vinnie Jones? Norman Hunter? Nobby Stiles? Ron “Chopper” Harris? or the entire 1970’s line-up of Leeds United?
Almost right. It’s a flat earth, on the backs of four elephants, standing on a tutrtle.
Not “on” – OWN
These are British kids in the north of England (but not so far North as to be in Andy Capp country). So it’s not so much “Peanuts” as gritty realism with a side of surrealism. Damn, now I’m wondering what living in Tackleford might do for (Pre)Teena Keene and her loopy mate Stick Klein – typical American girls of the same age in their own cartoon
Terry Pratchett, “Wyrd Sisters” – “She give me a biscuit, sir!” – about an old Witch defusing a squad of men-at-arms
Good shot about Lou Reed and the VU!
That’s not a sleeve matching the purple dress, then? I thought “black cardigan pulled on over purple dress with elbow-length sleeves”
A teacher getting sacked just for thumping a kid? Blimey, things have moved on.
Really pleased to start seeing British comics on GoComics – for a long time the only non-American one seemed to be Andy Capp, I suspect because that’s known in the USA. Get Steve Bell’s “IF” on this site and my joy will be a step nearer complete!
