If you miss the D&D days, you might look into a family board game called “Munchkin.” It is a lot of fun and takes constant tongue-in-cheek jabs at role-playing games of yore. My kids love it.

That doesn’t even make sense. The 1% pay between 33 and 40% of all federal income tax. Were you thinking of the true 1% (which includes anyone who makes 343,000 or more) or merely the superrich?

If this were about who gets to pay more, there would be a dollar eater for the 1% and a coin slot for everyone else and a penny-sized one for the bottom 50% which pays 2.2% of all federal income tax.

If there were a drug on the market responsible for as many birth defects and health consequences as tofu and other forms of unfermented soy it would be pulled form the market in a storm of outrage. Because it has a well-fluffed reputation as being magical pc hippy food and a source of protein (it is a very bad source of protein), its consequences are ignored. There is some form of unfermented soy in over 65% of processed food on the market today and people are getting sicker for consuming too much of it. Soy in moderation as it was traditionally consumed is fine (no more than a couple times a month…as a CONDIMENT and in addition to some other source of protein such as fish). Soy is not a substitute for meat.

In 40 something years I have never had this happen two weeks in a row and I have lived among JWs and Mormons aplenty. I have lived in the Bible Belt and in Baptist country. I have never had someone come back a week later to get pushy. I have never felt the need to go vigilante with a hose (and I certainly wouldn’t want someone to press charges at any rate). If it is really that intrusive, I think before I went so far, I would post a sign on the door.

Somehow I think “No thank you, please don’t bother us” would do the trick. A sign if you are really that bent out of shape. Or, as you say, don’t answer the door.

I am not ao “pro” member and I do not get popups. Perhaps you should adjust your browser to refuse popups and do an adware/malware check.

Nazis did not invent Christianity. Feel free to close the door and walk away. You are not required to accept any religion if you so choose.

When these people come to my door, I find “No thank you” works just fine every time. In a lot of years and several different states, I have yet to have one object or get pushy. I am having a hard time understanding the level of hostility. So you don’t agree with them…so what?

@spirit42What browser do you use? Make sure you have the settings adjusted (if possible) to exclude popups. It is possible that you have picked up some adware or malware somewhere. Download a copy of malwarebytes anti-malware (free) and install it. It should kill the problem. Then download a copy of adblock and if you like the idea of being able to browse without being tracked everywhere you go, donottrackplus. (When I come here I get 5 tracking hits every time.)

Canned soup is abominable. I make everything from scratch and the result is that my kids detest canned soup.(What baffles me: those people who throw a can of salty soup in almost every meal and can’t seem to cook a meal without it. BLECCH! It isn’t sauce, it isn’t gravy, and it certainly isn’t going to improve the average crockpot meal to the point that it is actually appetizing.)
