When I look at this piece I think it means that Jewish sympathy over the Holocaust has given Israel power to push oppression and to have lost its head/reason with regard to killing innocent women and children in Gaza. There is not enough attention on this subject. In the news we only hear that Israel is defending itself but there is not enough discussions about how they feel about killing innocent people who are trapped in Gaza –only that they have a right to protect themselves! That message sounds righteous even if it is not intended. Naturally Oliphant is trying to offend because he wants more attention to be given to this issue.
How many times do you see offensive cartoons about Catholics, gays, minorities or government? Should the Pope start calling the NY Times I wonder to complain?
