I’m not into sports but it makes me think of how guys seem to identify with “their” teams so much like this that they act like they are part of playing the actual game, while I remember my mom’s oldest sister went through a period of time when she identified with her favorite soap opera to the point where she’d write to the characters, warning them and such, like telling a woman that her husband is cheating on her, etc.! She thought it was real!

Most soap opera fans don’t take it to that level, but seem to react in much the same way as the sports fans.

The_JAM, it does run through land across Antarctica, so if the characters are based there, then it would make sense…

My brother’s kids eat just like this! His son has his face an inch from the plate and sort of snow plows the food in, like he’s afraid that if he lifts it off the plate it could fall and bruise!

I also know that as an adult I’d gag on liver and spinach- as a kid I’d have gone into a coma!

Of course, Obama was talking of making wounded vets pay for their expenses, due to combat injuries, through private insurance, to save money, but thankfully he got an earful from even some liberal Dems and backed off, but that shows what he really thinks.

Also, before World War 1 and World War 2, we let our military preparedness fall and that led to countless lives lost when we went to war without the proper equipment. The Obama administration thinks we don’t need things like F-22s, because, of course, we aren’t likely to get in a war with someone like China. The problem is, if we do get into a war with someone like China, you can’t just whip up the needed equipment overnight.

Also, when you show weakness, that only encourages dictatorships- Hitler was cautious, at first, as he was building up his power and taking Austria, Czechoslovakia, etc., as in the 30’s he knew he needed many more years to build up, but he found that England, France and others were too scared to risk a war, so he thought he could keep getting away with it, including Poland. Showing strength to dictators is always the best way to keep them from trying to get away with stuff!

It says we are all “Pro” now, but if you try something like looking at comics more than a month old, it knows that you aren’t really “Pro”.

Hmmm, I’d say he’s got it right. Iran, North Korea, China are all expanding their missile technologies and it’s only a matter of time before the first two have nukes to put on them. Obama thinks diplomacy is defense enough, but when dealing with the nut cases in places like North Korea and Iran, I’d much rather have something more concrete to help defend us.

Which is funny when you consider that Obama is having our navy move into positions to use what anti-missile capability we have now in case the North Korean missile heads for Hawaii or Alaska. Now he seems to think it’s useful in this case, but not to develop it so it’s more reliable and more likely to work when we are in great need?

I think in their house there’s a huge difference between grandma’s leftovers and mom’s leftovers!

Great food is still good the second or third time around, but horrid food does not improve over time!
