There were many many many more people hurt everywhere else in the world much more so than America. In fact, America has done more for the world in terms of ending human suffering and poverty than any country ever has.
You seem to have some foolish notion that people have to be happy at all times and there is no pain we should ever face. There will always people hurting even in the greatest country in the world. To deny that is to deny reality.

I will say that despite being a clear Obama supporter, Ifill did a very good job tonight. She was fair and that’s all I want. I’m not sure if it was the pressure she was getting from the right or what but she asked balanced questions to both candidates. I’m glad to have been wrong on her bias during the debate and hope that the media will follow her lead from here on.
