Articles of the Confederation? Doesn’t he mean the Confederate States of America?

The Dems used the filibuster about 1/4 as much as the R’s have. The Dems foolishly gave a pass to Bush’s two “movement conservative” SCOTUS appointees. But you are only allowed to be right wing or moderate for the court these days, never liberal. Too bad, the court most devoted to individual rights in the history of the US was the liberal Warren court.

Those were the days. Glad I’m in Canada now.

Just what is “illegal” really? Any legality to the US having stolen 1/3 of Mexico in 1846? Guess not. But I can’t blame Mexicans for still considering all the land from Texas to California to be part of their own country. It was, and should have stayed that way. “Bigger pens for slaves,” said Lincoln, and he was right. Oh, but he was a liberal.

Old thread, but here’s a short list of Republican and right wing affirmative action beneficiaries:

Clarence Thomas Sarah Palin Michael Steele Michelle Malkin Ann Coulter

None of these folks would be where they are if they were white and male, but they are very useful to American conservatives who want to prove they aren’t really a white male club. They all get paid quite well, too. Lucky them.

Excuuuuse me, but I’m gay, and no, they are definitely NOT on our team! (We wouldn’t let them in the club.)

I’m an American transplant living in Canada, and no, you do NOT have it better in the US. We live a year and a half longer at roughly half the cost, and we cover everyone. When there’s a problem with the health care system, we have an open and public debate about it, because this is a democracy and it belongs to us, not to some profiteering insurance company. Oh, how I could go on, but I won’t…
