I have always remembered this specific strip, but never the story line. When they said that a helicopter was called to rescue Linus, I had an “aha” moment. Many thanks for helping remember the full back-story. (Sharp salute to my fellow veterans.)

  2. 4 months ago on Garfield

If it wasn’t his brother calling, it would probably be a couple of veterans reconnecting.

  3. 5 months ago on Wizard of Id

Early in my USAF career, a fellow airman told me that every time characters stopped and smoked, he lit and smoked a joint. He claimed that it made the books more enjoyable. He didn’t last too long in the service.

    Amen, Lucy, Amen!

  5. 10 months ago on The Argyle Sweater

Look at the copyright stamp in the comic, it’s from 2017

  6. 11 months ago on Ripley's Believe It or Not

Our granddaughter is one of the Peppa Pig phenom. Not so much the accent, but the terminology. Holiday versus vacation, as an example.

  7. about 1 year ago on Peanuts

The perfect allegory on the current state of the Nation.

  8. about 1 year ago on Andy Capp

My,my, my. Isn’t it time for the Capp’s upgrade to a newer flat screen LCD television?

  9. about 1 year ago on For Better or For Worse

I saw that as well and was cracking up. It gives you an idea as to when these comix first rang. Love it.

Having worked in a behavior program in our local school district, this is spot on. Although we were the behavioral site for middle and high school students, our daughter reports the same thing at the middle school where she teaches. When I retired two years ago I told the director our our programs that I would sub, but only in the front office. Being familiar with the programs, procedures and policies it makes it easy to sub there. And the abuse that the office staff takes is similar to what the teachers and administrators take. Usually they are the first line of abuse takers. So sad that this is becoming more the norm in society, not just the schools, as a whole.
