Trump Disciples believe that Trump has no obligation to honor ANY Congressional subpoena.

And that Trump need not obey ANY part of the Constitution that he deems ‘phony’.

    .

Because they believe in Law&Order every bit as much as they believe in Family Values, Fiscal Responsibility, and Patriotism.

And, oh, how they ADMIRE the crime boss in the White House.

    .

The power of Congress to investigate and obtain information is very broad. While there is no express provision in the Constitution that addresses the investigative power, the Supreme Court has firmly established that such power is essential to the legislative function as to be implied from the general vesting of legislative powers in Congress.

    ~

How a particular committee decides to issue a subpoena is specific to each committee. Most committees of the House and Senate have included in their rules one or more provisions on committees’ and subcommittees’ power to authorize subpoenas by majority vote.

Most House committee rules delegate to the committee chair the power to authorize subpoenas, and many of these rules require the chair to consult or notify the committee’s ranking minority member.

    ~

The courts have long reaffirmed Congress’s constitutional authority to issue and enforce subpoenas.

Refusing to respond to a subpoena is exactly what an innocent person would do, of course.

    “Protect and defend the Constitution?”

I guess that’s only for those other 44 loser presidents. Trump in his brazenness and ignorance has actually said that the emoluments clause is phony. I can only speculate that he wants to be impeached AND removed from office so that he won’t have to face an election loss in ’20 and can play the martyr to his equally ignorant hardcore base and go back to being a reality TV star.

Sadly, he may get his wish. If Nixon and the Wall St fraudsters who cause the ‘08 recession walked away without jail time, there no reason why The Donald won’t either.

I don’t question looking into what Trump did… just curious why Biden is getting a free pass… using his political pull to get a foreign country to give his son a job is kinda suspicious too…
