There were quite a few rotten “moral standards” during the 1950s. Daughters of nonwhite and lower income families were deemed good for “marriage practice” by wealthy white teenage and college boys. If any of those victimized girls complained to police, wealthy families had only to hire a psychologist, who would press that big Freudian lie, about “all women secretly wanting to be raped.” “Marriage practice” also applied to homosexual assaults by gangs of taller boys against shorter boys in school gym locker rooms and showers.

Reminds me of a joke I heard Bob Hope make back in the 70’s.
