Dogs! Such an amazing gifts! love all the dogs (even Poncho)…my avatar is my dog, Zooey!

Too much of a good thing.

My dog has reached that age (well beyond his breed’s average life expectancy) where, when we come home he is stays asleep in his bed. About the only time he gets up these days is whenever anyone walks into the kitchen (how he knows is a mystery) or when he needs to go for a walk. But when he goes out, he perks up and can be quite spry.

I had a German Shepherd who didn’t even greet me. He ran straight for the door to get his leash on so he could go for a walk.

5 minutes, 5 hours or 5 days, they are just as excited.

I had a lovely big fella who would spin in circles and whack me in the knee with his tail on each turn. You learn to jump back!

Yup. It’s just like that.

Groundhog’s day?

No, seriously every single dog I have ever owned would have been out that door and long gone. The female dachshund of my elementary through high school life would even have made it to the dock and into the Niantic River.

A young co-worker of mine got married. Soon afterwards, they got a dog. I told him great idea. After a few years there will still be someone who’s glad to see you when you get home.
