We had a dog that was part Shetland Sheepdog. Rain didn’t bother her. Only one time it was really so hard she decided to wait, it let up a little & it was okay it’s light enough. I was the one who didn’t want to go out, but didn’t have a lot of say.
None of my dogs ever hesitated to go out to empty their bladders (or their bowels) when it was raining. The best part was that I did not need to go out with them. That is the great benefit of having a fenced-in back yard. However, I would take them out for walks when it was not raining, and they all loved that.
In bad weather, our dogs would stick their heads out the dog door, then back up in a hurry, usually crashing into each other in the process. They would then run to the front door and whine to be let out, apparently thinking that the weather was better there! They would be totally disgusted when I would open the door and the weather was identical.
Not weather-related, but our small dogs also would hear a noise and dash over to go out the dog door. They would often arrive at the same time, and almost get stuck trying to squeeze through at the same time! The bigger dog would stand behind watching and waiting, and looked like she wanted to say, “What’s the matter with these little idiots?”

Carmen, you missed the moment when the foot is applied and the door is closed.
My dogs are like this sometimes, they would rather bust their bladders than go out in the rain.

My dog – part lab – doesn’t even seem to notice rain. And will leap into any creek or pond we find on our travels. Wet dog!!!

Seems a bit excessive…couldn’t she just have yelled: “Bad Dog!” ?

Carmen looks good! She should wear her hair down more often.
