My microwave won’t STOP beeping. It even beeps when it’s not making food. We can’t get the bleeep thing to shut up! It’s constantly beeping, beeping, beeping! Keeping us awake at night, interrupting other people when they’re beeping, beeping about the most irrelevant, useless, pointless….

Microwaving is no way to cook a ham, though.
jgdyer, I’d say its more Zen than Tao.
Zen: “Before Enlightenment, cook the ham, give a beep. After Enlightenment, cook the ham, give a beep.” No need to make a big deal about it.
Tao: “Cook the ham, or don’t. Give a beep, or don’t.” In the long run, it makes no difference.
