I’m surprised at this one. I would have thought a “plugger” would keep his keys in the same pocket no matter what kind of pants he’s wearing. I do and have done so ever since I was old enough to carry keys. I will admit that I switched my wallet to a different pocket when I was about 25, but it was a deliberate decision and it has been in the same pocket ever since (i.e. about 40 years). It’s the new extras, like a cell phone, that I’m not always consistent with.
This plugger rarely carries any keys! If I am taking the car, the FOB maybe, but no need for any keys! Of course, if my memory fails me and I forget the security code to unlock the house door, I may have a problem…
Nowadays keys are becoming obsolete. House door locks can be purchased that are unlocked by a smartphone and many cars have gone to fobs only. I still like the tactile feel of the brass key. Plus a hacker can’t get into a key lock.
When I had babies I swore when I got older I’d carry a small purse. Then the doctor gave me an epi-pen I have to carry all the time, two inhalers, several types of pills, my sunglasses, trifocals (which are bigger than regular glasses) pen, wallet, hand lotion…old hands get dry a lot, and of course my car keys. Those things are HEAVY! I’m sure in a few years I’ll start carrying diapers again.
I was given a pair of those and I still only use 2 pockets. Wallet in right rear, keys and cash (NEVER in wallet) in right front. Swiss army knife on belt, left side. NO cell phone.
I’ll bet you might have your keys on a retractable cable attached to your belt? If you don’t, and want one, I know a hardware store where you can still purchase the device!
We used to sell quite a few in our hardware stores…

The pluggers I know, or am related to, would never even wear those silly cargo pants.

Without the keys, how will the car go?

A plugger can do yoyo tricks with his key reel and keys.

At least he found those nail clippers that went missing three weeks ago … and couple other things he forgot that he had.

See today’s Pickles strip. Strangely coincidental.

Some have enlarged the watch pocket to a smartphone pocket.
