Move over, Sharknado. There’s a new terrifying animal-tornado combination in town. Thursday night’s season eight premiere of the wonderfully ridiculous 9-1-1 introduced the world to the bee-nado. That’s right, a tornado made of killer bees. This is just the first of three nights of bee-nado as the triple-episode premiere will continue October 3 and 10.
Spend a summer working in the Canadian bush, and you will learn to love bees. They are one of the very few flying insects that aren’t after your blood.
We have vehicles that sit a bit higher than a standard car. We rented a Chevy Malibu for several days this week on a trip and, while it seemed an excellent vehicle, it was rather difficult to get out of being so close to the ground.
My first wife once called me at work and exclaimed that I had to get home immediately. Panicked, I wondered what the emergency could be. Did something happen to our daughter? Was there a fire or a flood in the house? Or was it worse than that? No, I have to come home immediately because there was a mouse in the house! Mind you, we had 2 cats and 2 dogs who knew how to take care of the problem.
You could leave her there, and enjoy the extended peace, but then she will just be that much more annoying when it flies away and she comes in ranting and raving. Go be the hero, Earl.

If she’s like me, she’s allergic to bee sting, so you do get scared…

I knock down at least 5 yellow jacket nests a week. Never get stung, maybe because I don’t kill them. They do get PO’d, but I never swat them

Just turn on the wipers.

Seatbelts in a 1951 Studebaker Champion? I guess we weren’t supposed to remember what kind of car they have.

Better a bee on the windshield than a bee in her bonnet.

I have exited a moving vehicle due to a flying stingy thing entering through an open window. (We weren’t moving very fast, thankfully)

Our bumblebees are passive and cute. The yellow jackets and horseflies, not so much.

if it’s an actual honey bee, they’re not out to get ya… but a wasp or hornet, that’s a different story… they’re generally in a bad mood!

Let her sit in that old Studebaker all night, Earl…
