She just paints how she feels, today not too well!

The smell of oil paints takes me back to when my grandmother painted. I loved her and missed her these past 45 years. I still enjoy her work and love seeing her signature on her art. She’s famous in my heart.

I figured that Earl would respond with a quote from Jacques Cousteau.

It doesn’t have to “be” anything. Maybe it’s an abstract painting. My mom did some cool ones back in the day!

But see, Earl, it’s perfectly OK if something’s unrecognizable. All Opal has to do is call it “abstract” and it will qualify as “art.” Even if she accidentally squirts some excess paint out of the tube and it happens to land just off-center of the canvas.

Like her style, yes, but is it art.

At her age, I think she should paint whatever gives her a lift, even it’s pure junk.

as an artist, I don’t like abstract art that took little to no thought or effort. I’m no plant and I can share my opinion both asked for and unasked.
