I love my gym time, met a new guy lately and told him I get to mow my lawn tonight (after sundown) I LOVE mowing my lawn, 2 days with a electric push mower and another with my TRACTOR. He said I was nuts, he hires people. He is nuts!
What’s scary to me is not how fast the years go by, but that I remember what happened years ago so much better than I remember what happened yesterday…
It’s all about percentages. When you’re six, a year is half of all your memories and experiences, and it seems long. But when you’re 70, a year is 1/67.You think of something you once did, and ask, “What decade was that?”
The details of our lives might be recorded by far-future archivists and made available for entertainment toward Earth’s jaded citizens. Will your life be a comedy, a tragedy … or an in-between soap opera? (—
After I retired, the expression “Thank Goodness It’s Friday” means nothing anymore, and has been replaced with “I Can’t Believe It’s Friday Again Already.”
I know exactly what he means, seems like the older I get[I am 74]the faster the days and weeks seem to fly by. Its already Thursday and seems like just yesterday it was June.
I’m one of those superannuated individuals and I’ve noticed that the days are flying by. Sad to see summer whizzing by to be replaced by leaf raking, snow shoveling and uncomfortably cold and wet weather, subjectively, very soon. Makes me think sometimes that I’m accelerating to the end of the line. At the speed I’ll be going by then, the collision should be epic.
That is so true! Each week to this 83 year old seems like two days. Time drags for kids, who have all the time in the world ahead, while it just zips by for us old folks. Doesn’t seem fair, but that’s the way it is.
When I was a babe and wept and slept,Time crept; When I was a boy and laughed and talked,Time walked. Then when the years saw me a man,Time ran.But as I older grew,Time flew.Soon, as I journey on,I’ll find time gone.May Christ have saved my soul, by then,
I woke up one day and was in my 60’s, holy hell what happened to the last 40 years? Now my high schoo classmates show up in the obits and I wonder. Im a fortunate man.

Flying faster as we get older.

Very true. The days are long but the weeks are short. The months might feel like eternity but blink and it’s a new year all over again.

I’ve heard it said that life is like toilet tissue. The closer you get to the end the faster it goes.

I remember the summers of ‘91 through ’96. They lasted around the equivalent of 20 of today’s years. Just the summers, nevermind the whole year.
They’re making years a lot shorter, nowadays. Like candy bars. They’ll say it’s for your health, but it’s all for profits.
I want my full-sized years back.

When you’re a kid the hours go by fast but the days drag by. When you’re old the hours go by slowly and the years fly by.

I started beginning my sentences with, “Have I ever told you…” because it seems I’ve begun repeating myself much like today’s comic.
